About Venice Plaza
Venice Plaza was established by John Olivieri in 1958 with a humble beginning as The Venice Specialty Shop, a small delicatessen located in Fairview, New Jersey. As time went on, Mr. Olivieri saw a need for upscale catering throughout southern New Jersey and began off premise catering until 1977. At that time Richard Campbell joined Mr. Olivieri and opened an on site upscale banquet facility in Berlin, New Jersey called The Venice Plaza.
Through the years The Venice Plaza has taken on a few changes including the addition of a dining room called The Gourmet Room. The Gourmet Room is a full service restaurant opened to the public Tuesday through Saturday, serving lunch and dinner.
The Venice tradition of excellence has continued for over 45 years and has become one of South Jersey's premier foodservice establishments.
At The Venice Plaza we are dedicated to a long-term commitment of excellence and dependability. For over 45 years and three generations, we have been involved in all aspects of the daily operation of our business, and continue to strive toward making each event more memorable than the last.

About Our Chef
James A. Keeny, Sr., known affectionately as Chef Jim, is a native of Southern New Jersey. He discovered his passion for cooking while helping out in his grandmother's kitchen and at that time began formulating his plan to pursue a career in the culinary arts field. Jim's first experience in a professional kitchen came as a teenager working at a local restaurant where his passion and skill for creating delicacies would continue to blossom.
Jim's next stop was culinary school, where he was classically trained in the art of French cooking techniques. After graduating at the top of his class he worked under the tutelage of some of South Jersey's finest chefs. In 1994, Jim arrived at Venice Plaza, taking on the position of Banquet Chef. His immense talents would see him rise to the position of Sous Chef, where he quickly established a reputation as a capable and artistic leader. In 2004, Chef Jim would ascend to the position of Executive Chef at Venice Plaza, and began setting a new benchmark for excellence.
Chef Jim's extraordinary skills in both gourmet continental and international cuisines combined with freshest quality ingredients available, promises your special event at Venice Plaza to be an experience second to none.
